Sattu is a special type of Indian Flour. It is made by milling roasted grains, which gives it a special taste and it does not need to be heated before further working with it. It is the main ingredient in the popular Street Food Litti Chokha. Barley is a grain that is very rich in iron, as well as fibre, calcium, protein and it has an especially low GI.

How to use: Popularly used as a cool drink. Therefore, it is mixed in cold water with jaggery as a sweetener. Furthermore, it can also be mixed with regular wheat flour and cooked as a high fibre, nutritious roti. Additionally, it can be made into Paranthas or Ladoos. Or you can make the delicious breakfast dish Sattu Cheela. For this dish mix besan, onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper, buttermilk/water and, of course, 6-7 spoons of sattu and fry in a pan.

How to store: Keep the contents of the packet in an airtight container, stored in a dry place away from sunlight. Since the content has not been treated with any preservatives, it may catch insects if not used for long. Kindly refer to the ‘Best Before’ printed on the packaging.
